The days are longer and the weather is warmer, which means summer time is fast approaching! Summer also means Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Graduation, and Wedding Season. What better way to celebrate these holidays and milestones than with a travel-themed gift! We have compiled a list of our favorite travel items to give you some inspiration before summer travel season begins. Here are some of our staff’s must-have items for travel.
Meghann Witthoft – Marketing Coordinator
A journal to gather thoughts in one place, especially on long car rides or flights when the time is hard to fill up if you can’t sleep. A forever notebook would make a great travel journal pick one up at one of our upcoming events!
David Frank – Publishing Specialist
A telephone to keep in contact with those at home. Make sure your phone is always charged on the go!
Michelle Beckner – HR and Finance Manager
Chewing gum to help pop ears when they get plugged from the changes in altitude.
Lauren Olson – OMS Client Care Coordinator
A jacket is great for travel since you never know what the weather will be like! I usually opt for a leather coat or a trench coat, since they are lightweight but still keep you warm if you need it. All-in-one makeup remover/face wash wipes make it easy to take off make-up quickly after a long day so that you can get to sleep right away and still wake up looking refreshed.
A Rimowa rolling carry-on holds everything in a hard case, can swivel all directions so it goes down the plane aisle easily, and makes a nice foot rest.
Krista Hallen – Production – Administration & Shipping
Music and headphones are the best way relax, plug in, and stare out the airplane window while my favorite tunes play in the background.
Wally Hines – Director of Standards
A tiny power strip with a two-foot cord makes it easy to plug all your devices in one location. And, when you travel overseas, it’s genius because you only need one converter for every device.
Sherri Knapp – Training Materials Client Care Coordinator
A lap blanket or throw is essential, especially when traveling via air because planes are always cold.
This travel throw even converts to a pillow!
Kim Baseman – Sales Coordinator
I always pack Band-Aids since blisters seem to happen frequently on a trip because of all the walking. Oh, and Twizzlers because it’s the best airplane snack!
Kim also gave us some ideas for if your kids are traveling with you as well:
Extra wet wipes, extra clothes, a special blanket or stuffed animal that reminds them of home, iPad for movies on airplane rides so they (the kids) aren’t loud, and of course extra patience.
We hope that these gave you some inspiration for your next trip or a gift idea for the adventurer in your life!
Did we miss something? Drop us a comment! We’d love to hear what you can’t travel without!
