In Chapter 10 David talks about the vertical project level. He says that virtually all of us could be doing more planning, more informally and more often, about our projects and our lives. He believes if we did that, it would relieve a lot of pressure on our psyches and produce an enormous amount of creative output with minimal effort. David believes we need to utilize more creative proactive thinking.
There was a spot in this chapter that someone says the middle of every successful project looks like a disaster. That is so true. It can be very easy when I start thinking about a large complex project to become overwhelmed by all the details that surface when I start thinking about it. The solution provided by this chapter is that I need to find easy ways to think about my projects and situations more frequently, easily, and in more depth. David provides some tips and techniques that will help me facilitate a natural, informal planning process.
